Mike Snyder is a seasoned apparel designer and entrepreneur with over 20 years in the industry. He is sought after as a pioneer and innovator who foresees trends in fashion, lifestyle and apparel. Mr. Snyder started his apparel career working under the lead designer Lian Murray at Quiksilver, then moved on to work alongside legends like Jeff Yokoyama of Maui & Sons. After Maui & Sons, Mr. Snyder founded Burning Snow, largely credited as the first snowboard apparel brand in the United States in 1986. At Burning Snow, Mr. Snyder was the lead designer and involved in all areas of manufacturing that include domestic and overseas sourcing and product development. Mr. Snyder’s marketing talent and knowledge of customer demands was instrumental in establishing Burning Snow in over 350 domestic accounts including Sports Chalet and Big Five, as well as numerous international accounts through distributors. Mr. Snyder grew Burning Snow to approximately $15 million in sales over the next 13 years prior to it being acquired by K2 in 1999.
Constantly innovating and spotting trends, Snyder started FLESHGEAR in 2000, becoming yet again an apparel pioneer to the new and rapidly growing Free-Style Motocross industry. Snyder was responsible for corporate and apparel design, employee managment, and production, growing the company to $1.1 million in revenues during its first year in operations. He is credited with securing strategic partnerships and investments from Fox Racing leading to the placement of the brand on internationally renowned motocross rider, Cary Hart.
Most recently, Mr. Snyder is co-owner and creative director of Voolii – a Volleyball lifestyle brand where he is responsible for corporate identity, full sample line production, development of marketing and web presence and oversight of all domestic and international production.
Mr. Snyder and the brands he's created have been featured in the LA Times, OC Register, Ski Magazine, Transworld Snowboard, and Sportstyle Magazine among several others .
As a young boy growing up along the beaches of Southern California, Mr. Snyder competed in the NSSA National Scholastic Surfing Association and maintains a life-long passion for surf and active lifestyle endeavors. Mr. Snyder currently lives in Las Vegas, Nevada with his 11-year-old son, Presley.
